VALUES
To help us to live by this model everything we do is underpinned by the following values:
Worship
Worship is at the heart of everything we do.
Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
Prayer
Prayer is essential as we seek to do God’s will.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12
Relationship
We were designed to be in relationship with God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and with each other; and so naturally we are better when we seek to develop our relationships.
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5
Discipleship
The Lord has a unique plan for each of us, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jerimiah 29.11). By following Jesus we will grow into that plan and we will discover fullness of life.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
Compassion
Jesus met people at their point of need and revealed his love and his truth. We aim to follow his example.
Love must be sincere. Romans 12:9
Hospitality
Hospitality is at the root of fellowship. We seek to befriend and encourage. Everyone can expect a warm welcome at St Francis’ Bramley.
Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:13
