OUR VISION

We are a loving family that is Bible based and Spirit led. We exist to worship God, to grow in community, and to be sent out into the world.

Here at St Francis’ we are passionate about Jesus and we want to share his friendship, love and truth. Jesus said “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”.

ABOUT

We’re a lively Anglican church family who worship currently at one service on a Sunday at 10am

VALUES

To help us to live by this model everything we do is underpinned by the following values:

Giving

Giving financially is one of the key ways in which we can respond to God. When we give to God, we are really giving back what is already his. When we give to God, we are recognising his generosity to us in delivering us from evil. When we give to God, we are expressing our adoration to God for his greatest gift, Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, the minimum amount required was 10% (the tithe) and that extended to everything they owned (Leviticus 27:30). The tithe was also used to support the Levites, the priestly tribe – who, in turn, had to give 10% of what they had received. To withhold the tithe was to steal what rightly belonged to God. In addition, when the people of God were blessed, they responded to give on top of their tithe.

In the New Testament, we have seen that God has been even more generous in sending us his Son. If anything, then, our response should be even more abundant. While some New Testament teachings are superseded by what was taught in the Old Testament, tithing is not, and actually Jesus endorsed tithing (Matthew 23:23). Without getting legalistic about it, the tithe remains as a standard to measure giving against.

If you would like to support the ministry of the church financially, please get in touch via the contact us page or pick up a giving form in church. Thank you.
